Latex pillows are primarily produced using the Dunlop process, with a few high-end products utilizing the Talalay process. The key difference between the two lies in their foaming and shaping methods. Below, I will use the mainstream Dunlop process as an example to provide a detailed description of the production line process.

Latex Pillow Production Line Process (Dunlop Process)

Phase 1: Raw Material Preparation and Pretreatment

1. Raw Material Receiving and Inspection
· Natural latex: This milky white liquid is collected from rubber plantations and is typically stabilized with ammonia to prevent solidification. Upon arrival at the factory, it is inspected for solids content, impurities, and other indicators.
· Synthetic latex: Such as styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), used to adjust costs and production characteristics.
· Additives: These include vulcanizing agents (such as sulfur, which cross-links the rubber molecules and makes them elastic), accelerators (which accelerate vulcanization), antioxidants (which prevent aging and chalking), foaming agents (such as soap, which helps form bubbles), and gelling agents (such as sodium silicofluoride, which helps the foam hold its shape in the mold). 2. Ingredients and Mixing
· Natural latex, synthetic latex (if necessary), and various additives are weighed and mixed according to a strictly secret formula.
· This process takes place in a sealed tank equipped with a stirrer to ensure a uniform mixture and prevent the latex from prematurely solidifying.

Second Stage: Foaming and Molding

1. Foaming
· This is the most crucial step. The mixed latex ingredients are fed into a latex foaming machine (the composition of which is detailed in your previous question).
· In the foaming machine, high-speed stirring and the simultaneous injection of compressed air expand the latex, transforming it into a smooth, stable latex foam, similar to a milkshake.
· The degree of foaming determines the final density and firmness of the pillow.

2. Mold Preparation
· Simultaneously, at another station, workers prepare the pillow mold.
· The mold is typically made of aluminum or stainless steel, and the interior contains the negative shape of the pillow design (including various height curves, particles, etc.). · Release agent: A layer of release agent (such as talcum powder or a specialized chemical) is applied to the inner wall of the mold to facilitate subsequent demolding.
